1.  Introduction to dog training

Here we teach you how dog training began and introduce some of the different methods used today by professionals

2.  Breeds

An introduction to the different breeds, how they are grouped and an analysis of the more popular ones.

3.  Canine Development - - Socialization Stages

                               Learn the structure of a canine’s growth and development from birth to death. Critical  stages of socialization that can effect a dog for the rest of its life. Learn what problems  dogs have at 4 months, 8 months, 18 months, 2 years, 3 years, and 5 years.

4.  Canine Evaluations &- Psychology

Understand dogs like a professional. We teach you how to read a dog. What motivates them. - How they learn and what they are capable of.

5.  Basic Care

                               How to properly care for a dog. Housing, bathing, brushing, nail cutting, feeding, veterinary care, exercise and play.

6.  Principals of Reinforcement

Behavior that continues to occur is rewarding. What is the most effective form of praise? Why corrections don’t work. And more…

7.  Equipment

All the gear we use and how to use it. What you need and what you don’t and why.

8.  Praise/Mindsets/Attitude

Along with understanding reinforcement, the professional trainer needs to have communication skills in order to effectively train a dog. Praise is an essential form of communication and reinforcement. We break down the three different levels of praise and teach you how to use it.

9.  Contact/Rapport/Pacing

How to make contact is essential for communicating. How to develop rapport is essential in creating a relationship before any training can begin. Pacing is a skill used for developing rapport.

10. - Commands - sit, down, stay, stand, heel, come and go.

There are several different ways to teach commands depending on the temperament and age of the dog. Here we teach you the different ways and when to use them.

11.  Heeling

Heeling is more than just a command it has to do with pack relationships and leading. We teach you how to heel a dog, points of balance and the proper footwork and mechanics.

We teach you the basics of how to teach the dog any trick. From play dead to army crawl.

 15. AKC Good Citizen Test
